Mr. Crickmay is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Manulife Japan, as well as its President and Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for Manulife Japan's vision of being the most professional life insurance company in Japan, providing leading financial protection and wealth management products and services, and learning from and quickly adapting to customers' changing needs. Mr. Crickmay's aim is to establish a strong business base for long-term success in the second largest life insurance market in the world.

In January 2004, Mr. Crickmay was appointed Deputy President and Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Japan.Shortly thereafter, Manulife Japan established a strategic sales and product development alliance with the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, one of Japan's largest and most successful banks.He was appointed to his current position in July 2004.

In 1970, Mr. Crickmay joined Manulife as a Computer Programmer Analyst and received a series of promotions in the Data Processing Division where he was appointed Data Processing Vice President in 1985. In 1989, he was appointed Operations Vice President, Savings and Retirement Services, and in 1992 he was named Agency Operations Vice President. From1994 till 2001, he was Senior Vice President, Individual Life responsible for Manulife's Life Insurance business in Canada. In April 2001, he was appointed Senior Vice President, Group Business, Canadian Operations, where he was responsible for both Group Benefits and Canadian Pension Operations.

He received a BA in Psychology in 1969 from the University of British Columbia.
