Obituary of Wendell R. Clark

Wendell R. Clark, 88, of Victoria, Illinois died Monday, November 11, 2013 at 3:58 P.M. at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois.

Wendell was born December 27, 1924 in Victoria, Illinois the son of Ralph and Lavon Huber Clark. He married Anona "Nona" J. Olson June 4, 1951 in Seattle, Washington. She preceded him in death on April 19, 2012.

Wendell is survived by his two children: John (Mary) Clark of Victoria, Illinois and Natalie (David) Crittenden, of Webster, New York. He is also survived by one brother: Donald E. (Florence) Clark of Corydon, Iowa, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.

He graduated from Victoria High School and played basketball while attending Kansas University. Wendell served his country during WWII. He farmed for most of his life.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Victoria, Illinois; the Charles Warrensford American Legion, 726; the Knox County Board; Galva Co-Op; ROVA School Board and was a Victoria Township Supervisor.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Victoria, Illinois. Obituary of Anona J. Olson
VICTORIA - Anona J. "Nona" Clark, 86, rural Victoria, died at 5:28 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1925, in Wahoo, Neb., the daughter of Enoch and Helga Sableman Olson. She married Wendell R. Clark on June 4, 1951, in Seattle. He survives of rural Victoria.
Surviving are a daughter, Natalie (David) Crittenden of Rochester, N.Y.; one son, John (Mary) Clark of Victoria; four grandchildren, James, Anjay, Jason Clark and Evan Crittenden; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Dana Mark (Jody) Olson of Pocatello, Idaho. Her parents and two sisters, Elsa Jane and Natalie, preceded her in death.
She attended the University of Denver in 1948, then she received her master's of education in 1978. She taught school in Carmel, Calif., in the 1940s; then at ROVA School District in the 1950s; and finally she taught in Williamsfield School District from 1963 until she retired in 1983.
She was a member of Victoria United Methodist Church and Knox County Retired Teachers.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Victoria United Methodist Church, the Rev. Russ Theobald officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. until time of service on Sunday. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Victoria United Methodist Church. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory of Knoxville is in charge of arrangements. Passed Away Peacefully July 17th, 2014

Born November 1, 1923. Survived by his wife, Anne; brother, John (Sue); and adoring stepchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Joe graduated from Saint Paul Academy and Yale University. Always a true gentleman, his quick wit, sense of humor, joke telling and gentle spirit will be forever missed.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held at the White Bear Lake Yacht Club on Wed., July 23, 2014 from 4-6PM.
