Obituary of Claude Richard Cory

Claude "Richard" Cory, 63, of Denver passed away on Nov. 12, 2007, at Rose Hospital in Denver following a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Richard was born in Helena on July 27, 1944, the son of Claude N. and Kathleen Henter Cory.

He attended Cathedral High School and Helena Senior High. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He graduated from Regis University in Denver with a degree in political science. Prior to becoming ill, he worked for the Democratic Party, researching and gathering statistical information.

Richard loved a good debate and frequently discussed politics. He played football for Cathedral High School and continued his love of football watching the Denver Broncos.

He is survived by a son, Lee Cory of Denver, and a daughter, Nicole Cory, and granddaughter, Jayden Cory, both of Helena. He is also survived by a twin sister, Claudia Cory of Citrus Heights, Calif.; two brothers, Dennis Cory of Citrus Heights and Jeff Cory of Bozeman; and two younger sisters, Jane Klein of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Marilyn Gilmore of Granite Bay, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Claude M. and Fannie Campbell Cory and Leo A. Henter and Irene Nelson Henter Husher.
