St. Peter Herald, March 28, 1890

The death of Nicholas Schons, one of the oldest settlers of Nicollet, occurred on Saturday evening last. Mr. Schons settled in the town of Nicollet in 1868, on a farm, where he ever since resided and where he died at the age of 75 years. Mr. Schons leaves four children, M.H. and P.A. Schons, Mrs. Michael Morson and Mrs. Nicholas Lorge. The cause of death was general debility. The funeral took place on Tuesday last.
