    Marvin G. Cook, 76, of Granbury, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, in Fort Worth. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008) at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Holly Hills Memorial Park.

    It is requested that memorials be to the Granbury Lions Club Summer Program.

    Mr. Cook was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Abilene, to John Marvin Cook and Juanita Bacon Cook. He married Margaret Connally, Sept. 24, 1955, in Cheyenne, Wyo.

    He served in the US Air Force. Marvin was an agent for All- State Insurance Co. He was a member of the Granbury Lions Club, charter member of the Granbury Brigade, Granbury Chamber of Commerce and the Granbury Ambassadors, Granbury Masonic Lodge and Irving (Texas) Shriners. While living in Southlake, he was a member of Southlake Lions Club, a charter member of the Southlake Sister City Program in Japan, and was named “Man Of The Year” by the Southlake Chamber of Commerce. He also had been a member of the Irving Exchange Club and the Irving Boy Scout Troop #137. Marvin was a member of several insurance associations and had been in the insurance business for over 45 years. His professional designations were CLU and LUTCF and he was very dedicated to community service.

    Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, John Cook. Survivors are his wife, Margaret Cook of Granbury; son, Michael Cook and wife, Karan, of San Antonio; daughter, Michelle Arnold and husband, Tommy, of Ranger; grandchildren, Haley Cook, Lindsey Cook, Chelsi Arnold, Garrett Arnold; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Final arrangements were by Wiley Funeral Home.
