ANNA AGNES OSDOBA

Mrs. Anna Agnes Osdoba, 215 Seventh avenue, San Mateo, died yesterday at a Santa Clara hospital following a long illness. She had lived in this community for eight years.

A native of Minnesota, she is survived by her husband, John, San Mateo; sisters, Miss Katherine Welter and Miss Scholastica Welter, both of Redwood City, Mrs. Mary Hurley, Spokane.

A requiem mass will be said at St. Matthew's Catholic church at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning. Interment will follow in Golden Gate National cemetery.

The rosary will be recited at Sneider and Sullivan chapel at 8 o'clock tonight.

Born on Abraham Lincoln's birthday, February 12, 1920, in a log cabin in Priest River, Idaho, Anita, entered into rest on February 22, 2009, at Avalon Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Atkinson and May (Dunn) and Smokey Williamson, her husband, Maurice Welter in 1980, and her brother, Donald Atkinson (of Whitefish, MT).

Survivors include her sister, Velma Brown of Kalispell, MT; five children, Leo Welter (Gaye) of East Wenatchee, WA, Mary Anne Solberg (Gary) of Mead, WA, Dennis Welter, David Welter (Cheryl), and Alan Welter (Betty) all of Spokane, WA; 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Avalon Care Center. Visitation will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday, February 26th & 27th, between the hours of 9 am and 8 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA, with Pastor Bob Smith, officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., Inland NW Chapter, 910 W. 5th Ave., Ste#256, Spokane, WA 99204-2973

Dennis was born to Maurice and Anita Welter in Spokane on November 15, 1944. He graduated from Rogers High School and served in the US Army after high school.

He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by brothers and sister, Leo (Gaye), Maryanne Solberg (Gary), David (Cheryl) and Alan (Betty), and many nieces and nephews.

At Dennis's request, no funeral services will be held; a reception will be held at a later date. SPOKANE CREMATION and FUNERAL SERVICE, 2832 N. Ruby St., Spokane, WA.

Obituary of Alan Michael Welter

WELTER, Alan Michael Born May 30, 1947, passed on September 29, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Anita Welter and his brother Dennis Welter.

Alan is survived by his companion Bette Stitt. He is also survived by two sons. Brian Welter of Chattaroy and Brad Welter and his wife Melinda of Spokane. Alan’s other survivors are brother Leo Welter and wife Gaye of Spokane; sister Mary Ann Solberg and husband Gary of Spokane; brother David Welter and wife Cheryl of Spokane.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Jordan and Kara Welter of Spokane, Kloie Welter, Miranda, Austin and Kissandra Murinko of Spokane.

Alan drove truck for URM and retired after 35 years. He served in the Army and was stationed on Okinawa during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed boxing and was on the all Army Boxing Team earning several awards. Over the years he loved playing softball as a first baseman. Boating was also a favorite pastime. He spent most of his summers on Coeur D’Alene Lake.

A Memorial Service is being held October 18th at 1:00 pm at Mt. Spokane Church, 6311 E. Mt. Spokane Park Dr., Mead, WA.
