Funeral services for Anna D.. Kerbs (nee Zersen) of Mundelein were held March 25 at the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., Mundelein, with Rev. Jerrold Swanson officiating. Interment followed in Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago.

Mrs. Kerbs was born Feb. 26, 1914 in Libertyville and has been a resident of the area her entire life. She died March 22.

She was Dr. Edwards nurse for many years and also a nurse at Anchor Coupling in Libertyville and Abbott Labs in North Chicago.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mundelein.

She is survived by her sons Arthur F. Kerbs, Robert (Emily) Kerbs; her sister Martha Stilley; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Sr. and her brothers Carl Zersen; sisters, Esther Ahmer and Bertha Zersen.

Deceased Name: Carl Zersen Carl E. Zersen, 83, of Antioch, died April 20 in the Rolling Hills Manor, Zion, Ill.

He was born March 22, 1921 in Mundelein, the son of the late Theodore and Dorthera (Gehrke) Zersen. He lived in Adams Friendship, Wis., from 1978 until 1992 when he moved to Antioch.
He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church and Choir in Antioch. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was co-owner of the Lake Shore Stair Company of Libertyville. He loved woodworking and playing the piano.
On March 8, 1943 he married Mary Biebert in Libertyville and she preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Jerry (Sherrie) Zersen of Antioch and a daughter, Dori (Rocky) Noble of Wildwood; three grandchildren, Tracie Zersen and Ryan and Adam Noble; two sisters, Martha Stilley and Ann Kerbs both of Mundelein. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a brother William Zersen and two sisters Esther Ahmer and Bertha Zersen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. April 23 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1275 Main St., Antioch with Pastor Gregory Hermanson officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Hunt Club Road and Route 120, Libertyville. Visitation will be at the church from 4 to 7:30 p.m. April 22 and 10 a.m. until time of services April 23.
Those desiring may make contributions to the church building fund, in his memory.

Helene M. Zersen formerly of Mundelein, IL

Funeral services for Helene M. Zersen (nee Ming), 91, of Walworth, Wis., will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Libertyville. Born Feb. 28, 1913, in Chicago, she died Saturday, July 17, 2004, in Williams Bay, Wis. Interment will follow the services in Ivanhoe Cemetery. Helene is survived by her son, Kenneth (Anna Marie) Zersen of Conover, Wis.; her daughter, Sharon Zersen Ketterhagen of Fontana, Wis.; her grandchildren, Keith (Heidi) Zersen, William and Lynn Ketterhagen; her great- grandchild, Andrew; and by her brother, Robert Ming of Onalaska, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Zersen; and by her grandchild, Kimberly. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kristan Funeral Home, 219 W. Maple (Route 176), Mundelein, with a wake service at 7:45 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to A Safe Place for Domestic Violence, P.O. Box 1067, Waukegan, IL 60079, in honor of her granddaughter Kimberly Lang. Mary Zersen, 76 years old of Antioch, Illinois passed away Thursday, February 5, 1998 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion, IL. She was born January 22, 1922 in Lake Forest, IL the daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Mentz) Biebert.
She was a lifelong resident of the Lake County area.
Mrs. Zersen was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Antioch, and the Ladies Aid of the Church.
On March 8, 1943 she married Carl Zersen in Libertyville, IL.
Survivors include her husband Carl; one son Jerry (Sherrie) of Lindenhurst, IL; one daughter, Dori (Rocky) Noble of Wildwood, IL, and one brother Edwin (Muriel) Biebert of Mercer, WI. She was the grandmother of Tracie Zersen and Ryan and Adam Noble.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 9, 1998 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1275 S. Main Street, Antioch, IL. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Friends may call at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main Street (Rte. 83), Antioch, IL from 3:00-7:30 PM Sunday and Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service at church.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund in her memory.
