MRS. ANNIE SCHMITT OF BELLE PLAINE DIES SUDDENLY.

     Mrs. Annie Schmitt of Belle Plaine passed away suddenly at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park Saturday evening, October 13. She had been a patient there for one week. She was 85 years old.
     Anna Ditz was born in Jordan, August 2, 1888, to John and Margaret Boerner Ditz. She was the eldest of a family of six and was the last of the family. Her sister Hilda dies September 12, 1971. She attended school and grew up in the home community and was married to Joseph E. Schmitt of Belle Plaine, October 11, 1911, in St. John's Catholic Church in Jordan. The couple made their home in St. Paul and moved to Belle Plaine about 1916. Her main interests were her family, her church and her garden.
     Surviving are her son Eugene of St. Paul: daughter-in-law, Ione Heisler Schmitt, (widow of her late son, Roman) daughters Florence of Belle Plaine; Margaret (Mrs. George Stoffa) of Colorado Springs, Colo.: Bernice (Mrs. Sylvester Winter) of Le Sueur; and son Norbert of Shakopee. There are eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her husband died January 23, 1961. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine Tuesday morning with Rev. Hugo Linus officiating. Interment was in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Mrs. Annie Schmitt of Belle Plaine passed away suddenly at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park Saturday evening, October 13. She had been a patient there for one week. She was 85 years old. Anna Ditz was born in Jordan, August 2, 1888, to John and Margaret Boerner Ditz. She was the eldest of a family of six and was the last of the family. Her sister Hilda dies September 12, 1971. She attended school and grew up in the home community and was married to Joseph E. Schmitt of Belle Plaine, October 11, 1911, in St. John's Catholic Church in Jordan. The couple made their home in St. Paul and moved to Belle Plaine about 1916. Her main interests were her family, her church and her garden. Surviving are her son Eugene of St. Paul: daughter-in-law, Ione Heisler Schmitt, (widow of her late son, Roman) daughters Florence of Belle Plaine; Margaret (Mrs. George Stoffa) of Colorado Springs, Colo.: Bernice (Mrs. Sylvester Winter) of Le Sueur; and son Norbert of Shakopee. There are eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her husband died January 23, 1961. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine Tuesday morning with Rev. Hugo Linus officiating. Interment was in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
