Casimer J. Rozeski, age 82, lifelong resident of Silver Lake, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at his home.

He was born May 3, 1928, in Silver Lake, the son of Frank and Stella (Pokornowski) Rozeski.

Casimer was a lifelong farmer, a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a past board member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, serving for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Valeria (Nowak) Rozeski; children: Diane (Tom) Holsapple, Betty (Paul) Opsahl, Jane (Barry) Bergren, Marylou (Ron) Brandel, Kathleen (John) Wozniak, George (Donna) Chap, Linda (Joe) Zitzmann, Nancy (Duane) Ebert, Roger (Julie) Chap, and Tom (Carrie) Chap; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Marcella Matousek.

Casimer was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Stella (Pokornowski) Rozeski; a daughter, Sharon Rozeksi; sisters Delphine Rozeske and Evelyn Pesina; and a brother, Frances Rozeski.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Fr. Tony Stubeda and Fr. Patrick Okonkwa were concelebrants for the Mass. Interment was in St. Adalbert's Catholic Cemetery in Silver Lake.

He served as assistant principal at Cathedral High School, Greenfield-Central High School and Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township Middle School. Later he was principal at Kesling Middle School in Laporte and Center Grove Middle School. Since 1999 he had been assistant superintendent at Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corporation in Ellettsville.

He received his Associates degree in sociology from Northwestern Oklahoma A&M; his Masters in Business Administration degree in sociology and education from Southern Illinois University and his Master of Arts degree from Valparaiso University. He received his education specialist degree in school administration from Indiana University.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting and football.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He attended the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville.

Survivors include a son, Christopher Todd Rubush of Alpharetta, Ga; two daughters, Tiffany Michelle Rubush of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Tara Marisa Rubush of Greenwood; and a brother, Edward Jerome "Jerry" Rubush of Merrimack, N. H.

The funeral service will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville. The Rev. John Hall will officiate.

Visiting hours will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

There will be no burial. The body will be cremated.
