VICTORIA - Anona J. "Nona" Clark, 86, rural Victoria, died at 5:28 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1925, in Wahoo, Neb., the daughter of Enoch and Helga Sableman Olson. She married Wendell R. Clark on June 4, 1951, in Seattle. He survives of rural Victoria.
Surviving are a daughter, Natalie (David) Crittenden of Rochester, N.Y; one son, John (Mary) Clark of Victoria; four grandchildren, James, Anjay, Jason Clark and Evan Crittenden; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Dana Mark (Jody) Olson of Pocatello, Idaho. Her parents and two sisters, Elsa Jane and Natalie, preceded her in death.
She attended the University of Denver in 1948, then she received her master's of education in 1978. She taught school in Carmel, Calif., in the 1940s; then at ROVA School District in the 1950s; and finally she taught in Williamsfield School District from 1963 until she retired in 1983.
She was a member of Victoria United Methodist Church and Knox County Retired Teachers.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Victoria United Methodist Church, the Rev. Russ Theobald officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. until time of service on Sunday. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Victoria United Methodist Church. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory of Knoxville is in charge of arrangements.
