BAXTER -- George Paul Bahr, 84, Baxter, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

He was born May 12, 1916, in Brainerd to Paul and Elma (Stillwell) Bahr. He graduated from Washington High School in Brainerd in 1934. He married Dolores "Dee" Johnson on June 11, 1944, in Crosby. He worked at the Burlington Northern Railroad shops as a machinist welder for 23 years. He then worked as a salesman for Armour Meat Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1978. He was the oldest member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, being a lifetime member, a 58-year member and past president of the Moose Lodge, earning the Pilgrim degree, the highest award to a Moose member. He was a member of the Masonic Temple as a shriner and belonged to the Burlington Northern Vets.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Bahr, Grand Rapids, Donald Bahr, Pine River, and Charles Bahr, Brainerd; two daughters, Gretchen Kuseske, Kimball, and Virginia "Ginger" Augustinack, Brainerd; 16 grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Ebinger and Evelyn Worra.

A sister, Lucy Waters, and a grandson died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Father Glenn Derby officiating. Burial will be in the Baxter Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with an Order of the Moose service at 7 p.m., at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.

He worked at the Burlington Northern Railroad shops as a machinist welder for 23 years. He then worked as a salesman for Armour Meat Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1978. He was the oldest member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, being a lifetime member, a 58-year member and past president of the Moose Lodge, earning the Pilgrim degree, the highest award to a Moose member. He was a member of the Masonic Temple as a shriner and belonged to the Burlington Northern Vets. Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Bahr, Grand Rapids, Donald Bahr, Pine River, and Charles Bahr, Brainerd; two daughters, Gretchen Kuseske, Kimball, and Virginia "Ginger" Augustinack, Brainerd; 16 grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Ebinger and Evelyn Worra. A sister, Lucy Waters, and a grandson died earlier. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Father Glenn Derby officiating. Burial will be in the Baxter Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with an Order of the Moose service at 7 p.m., at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Helen L. Ebinger, 82, Brainerd, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

She was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Brainerd to Paul E. and Elma (Stillwell) Bahr. She married Milton "Pat" V. Ebinger. He died in 1997. She was a St. Paul's Episcopal Church member, a church guild member and past church guild president. She was also a Degree of Honor member.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Ebinger, Brainerd, and John Ebinger, Nisswa; two daughters, Catherine Clark, Brainerd, and Judy Levig, Shoreview; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Worra, St. Paul.

Her husband; a daughter, Mary; a brother, George Bahr; and a sister, Lucille Waters, died earlier.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brainerd with Father John Tulk officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and an hour before services Friday at the church.

Mrs. James Gordon

Mrs. James Gordon, a resident of Little Falls for many years died yesterday at Ancker hospital, St. Paul, where she had been a patient about two months. She had been ill since last fall. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon in St. Paul.

Mrs. Gordon, whose maiden name was Minnie Bahr, attended the Church of Our Saviour while a resident of the city and was a member of the Kensington club.
Surviving are two sons, Donald and Morley, St. Paul, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Frank T. Nelson, Duluth, formerly of Little Falls.

Mr. Gordon preceded his wife in death a number of years ago.

Paul Bahr Dead

Mrs. F.E. Hall, Sr., of this city received word Friday of the death of her brother, Paul Bahr, formerly of Little Falls, at Brainerd on Friday noon. He has been ill for several weeks with a complication of diseases and was at the N.P. Hospital.

Mr. Bahr is survived by a widow and four small children, also his mother, Mrs. Ernest Kleinschmidt of this city; two sisters, Mrs. James Gordon of St. Paul and Mrs. F.E. Hall, Sr. of Little Falls; and three brothers, Max Bahr of Duluth, Emil Bahr of Portland, Ore; and Albert Bahr of Milwaukee, Wis.

The funeral was held from the Episcopal church at Brainerd Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Wolner officiating.

Obituary 21 May 2015 Obituary of Erlene Bailey

Erlene Bailey Durrenberger was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Alton, Mo., the eldest of eight children. Following two years of college, she joined the Navy and married naval officer, John Durrenberger. They had three children and lived in Florida, Colorado and Germany.

The Durrenberger Family enjoyed traveling throughout the Unites States and Europe, camping in national and international parks for most of the summer months. After her children were away at college, Erlene worked for a private company in Israel and lived in a Quonset hut in the Negev Desert for three years. She returned to her home in the States and lived her remaining years in the city of Valparaiso, Fla., where she enjoyed activities with family and friends and enjoyed volunteering at the Methodist Bargain Box.

Erlene is survived by her three children, Diane (Richard) Levy, Tom (Sharol) and Alan; three grandchildren, Andy Levy, Thomas Durrenberger, Ann (Seth) McCann; and her great-grandson, Evan McCann. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Bailey.

Erlene passed away peacefully in her home on May 5, 2015, under the care of Covenant Hospice. A reception to honor Erlene will be held Saturday, May 23, at 10 a.m., room 300, at the Crosspoint United Methodist Church in Niceville, Fla; casual attire, please. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to the Crosspoint United Methodist Church is suggested.
